Azilal rugs are works of art in which each rural woman of the Azilal region tells her own story. The themes are all inspired by tribal life, such as birth, motherhood, marriage and even farming.
Among the Berbers, it is said to be the rug that drives people wild. That may be a stretch, but I understand that some people are literally crazy about it. The Azilal manages to bring together the color of the boucherouite and the fine first-shearing wool of the Beni Ouarain.
