01 · Who we are

The thread of our story

At the heart of the Tamesloht cooperative, Arttissage Tam keeps alive the ancestral art of Berber weaving. Our weavers turn raw wool into exceptional rugs, hand-knotting motifs passed down from mother to daughter for generations.

Our ecosystem

Three houses, one common thread

The Art Tissage Tamesloht cooperative brings together three complementary worlds, born at different times and united by the same artisanal know-how — and one shared mission: keeping alive the gestures of Tamesloht and the hands that carry them on.

02 · New arrivals

Our latest weavings

New rugs and hand-woven pieces, between Amazigh tradition and timeless elegance.

03 · Rug styles

Each rug, a tradition

From the colourful diamonds of Azilal to the ivory softness of Beni Ouarain, each style tells of a region, a tribe, a story.

04 · The craft

From the thread to the rug

Behind every rug lies a long journey of gestures passed down from generation to generation. From raw fleece to finished piece, five stages shaped entirely by hand.

01

The wool

Selecting and washing raw wool from Atlas sheep, hand-sorted to keep only the purest fibre.

02

The spinning

The wool is hand-spun on a spindle, a patient gesture that gives birth to the first thread, irregular and alive.

03

The dyeing

The threads take on colour in baths of natural pigments — pomegranate, henna, indigo — for deep, lasting hues.

04

The weaving

On the vertical loom, every knot is tied by hand. Weeks of work to compose motifs and memory.

05

The finishing

Tightened edges, combed fringes and a final wash: the piece finally reveals its softness and glow.

05 · The weavers

The hands that weave memory

The women of Tamesloht and the Atlas valleys bring each rug to life. Seated at the loom for hours on end, they knot, count and compose — repeating gestures their mothers and grandmothers passed down to them.

For them, weaving is not just work: it is an art, a pride, an independence. Every piece that leaves the cooperative sustains a craft and the women who carry it.
